Inflation
While visiting my home city I was shocked to learn that 0.5l of beer now costs there as much as here in Italy. If I was the state leader, I would bind the state currency to beer to prevent this happening instead of binding it to euros or any other currency.

In Lithuania similar thing just happened. They bound a minimum salary to a bottle of beer :P Now you are assured that will always be able to buy a bottle of beer.
