Mama told me not to come!
I took just few disks here, so I miss the rest of my music collection. Fortunately, Tom Jones is healing my soul. His songs have very good lyrics comparing to other crap. Just take a look at this:
"Want some whiskey in your water?", "Sugar in your tea?" What’s all these crazy questions they’re askin’ me? This is the craziest party that could ever be, Don’t turn on the lights ’cause I don’t wanna see! Mama told me not to come, Mama told me not to come, She said: "That ain’t the way to have fun, son, That ain’t the way to have fun!"
That song was written by Randy Newman; if you like the lyrics you should check out his other work, especially the early stuff. SAIL AWAY and GOOD OLD BOYS were great early albums. The tv show MONK uses a Newman song as its theme.
Wow! Thanks a lot for expanding my musical erudition! Among these amounts of mass-audience oriended production it becomes difficult to know original artworks.
